Striper fishing on Lake Lanier can be productive year-round, but spring time (March-May) typically offers the most consistent action and trophy striped bass. Obviously, seasonal patterns change based on water temperature, bait movement and weather conditions.
No experience is required.

Lake Lanier fishing charters include a fully equipped fishing boat, rods, reels, tackle, bait and on-the-water instruction. You only need to bring personal items such as food, drinks and appropriate clothing.
We require a $100 deposit per boat to confirm bookings. The remaining portion is due on the day of your trip and can be paid via cash, credit card, Venmo or Zelle. Please note that if you choose to use a credit card we will need to charge you a 3% transaction fee.
The deposit is fully refundable if your trip is cancelled due to weather conditions.
Weather cancelations are at the discretion of The Striper Guy Guide Service. Light rain usually doesn’t stop us—fish often bite better in overcast weather. If you need to cancel or reschedule your charter to another date for another reason, you may apply your deposits/payments to that date (based on availability). If you are a no show/no call on the day of the trip, your deposit will be forfeited and your credit card will be charged the full amount of the balance due on your charter.
Charters are available as half-day trips (typically 4–5 hours) and full-day trips (up to 8 hours). Trip length can be customized based on group needs and fishing conditions.

Bring weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, food and drinks and any personal items you may need. We prefer you use our built-in coolers if possible but we can accommodate additional coolers if necessary.
Early morning is often the most productive time for striper fishing on Lake Lanier, especially during warmer months. During cooler seasons, productive fishing can occur throughout the day depending on conditions.
Gratuities are not included and are always appreciated for great service, but never required.
We meet at a marina or boat ramp nearest the schools of fish we are targeting that day. If you live on the lake or are staying on the lake, we can pick you up at your dock provided your dock isn’t too far away from where the fish are biting. We would rather spend your time fishing.
Yes, while we don't get checked very often, every person 16 years old and older is required to have a Georgia fishing license. You can purchase short term or annual licenses. There are also discounts for seniors. Licenses are very cost effective, even for out of state anglers. Click here for Fishing License
